Moringa is a common plant in many parts of Africa. It is mostly used as fencing stick. The stem germinates when planted during the raining season.
it is well know and used among some Muslim communities. In Hausa language, it is called Zogala or Zogalagondi. The ewes call it Yevu-ti. The dagaombas call it Baganlua. it is know by the yoruba or Nigeria as Ewe ile or Idagbo or Idagbo Monoye. The Ibos call it Ikwe oyibo. It is know in french as Ben aile Or Boenzolive.
Moringa leaves and young pods are highly nutritious. Moringa leaves contain high amount of protein, Vitamins A and B, calcium, Iron and several other minerals. When taken raw, it also gives vitamin C. The flowers can also be boiled and eaten.
The numerous and high Level of Nutrients that Moringa contain make it s health benefits for the human body very fantastic. Moringa is capable of promoting good health in both children and adults. it eliminates nutrient deficiency sicknesses completely when used in the right way. It also cures several diseases through a natural way of revitalizing the body and strenthening the immune system to fight diseases. it even controls or manages the deadliest virus on earth today though it dose not cure it completly.
HOW TO USE MORINGA:
1. The raw fresh leaves can be added to other vegetables to prepare salad.
2. the fresh leaves can be added to stew and soups just like any other leafy vegetable
Note: in this way, the leaves should be washed and added to the soup or stew when it is almost cooked.
MORINGA HERB POWDER:
Pluck the Moringa leaves off the stalk. Dry them under a shed, a tree or in the room till they are thoroughly dry. Note: if dried in the direct sun, it loses some nutrients.
After it is well dried, pound it in the mortar to a smooth powder. Sieve it with the siev used for sieving flour.
Preserve it in a rubber container with a lid. The container should be dark. Light destroys it’s power.
HOW TO USE THE MORINGA HERB POWDER:
Add one teaspoonful of the Moringa Herb powder to a cup of previously boiled water.
Add a little honey, a pinch of salt and soya milk (optional)
Mix it well and drink. this may prepared and taken it two times a day.
You may alternatively, add one teaspoonful of the powder to porridge, soup, stew or in any other convenient form and take.
Note: Cooking or boiling Moringa reduces its nutrient values. It is therefore best to take it raw, without boiling it.
